Generally, most of our client have outdated Halon or CO2 suppression systems; the older type systems when discharged can create more damage by discharging the engine space with a powder that fouls the filters and more often than not penetrates the engine itself; in such cases once the fire is out, and the vessel has been recovered the engine has to be re-built.
We highly recommend replacing your dated Halon system, with Sea Fire NOVEC 1230 (auto) or FM 200 (auto). We are happy to give you unbiased advice and carry out a free inspections and make recommendations accordingly.
